Terms of Service
IF Media Connect is operated by IF Media Inc., a company incorporated in Alberta, Canada. These Terms of Service govern your use of the platform at connect.ifmedia.ca. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.
1. Who We Are
IF Media Connect is a Canadian creator marketplace that connects brands with independent content creators for UGC content, video production, video editing, drone services, and voice over work.
IF Media Inc. is the legal entity that owns and operates IF Media Connect. References to "IF Media Connect," "the platform," "we," "us," or "our" all mean IF Media Inc.
IF Media Inc. is not a bank, employer, staffing agency, or regulated escrow service. We are a marketplace platform that facilitates project-based commercial relationships between brands and creators.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use IF Media Connect.
By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements. If you are registering on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.
3. Your Account
One account per person or business. You may not create multiple accounts. Duplicate accounts may be suspended without notice.
Email verification is required to access the platform after registration.
Phone verification is required for creators before applying to projects, messaging brands, accepting work, or being hired.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials private
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Keeping your account information accurate and up to date

4. Creators
Creators on IF Media Connect are independent contractors — not employees, agents, or partners of IF Media Inc. You are responsible for your own taxes, business registration, insurance, and compliance with applicable Canadian law.
By registering as a creator, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete profile and portfolio information
- Only apply to projects you genuinely intend to complete
- Deliver work that meets the agreed contract requirements by the agreed deadline
- Communicate promptly and professionally with brands and with IF Media Connect
- Own or hold the necessary rights to all work you submit
- Disclose any AI-assisted elements in your deliverables where relevant (see Section 11)
5. Brands
By registering as a brand, you agree to:
- Post only real, legitimate projects for lawful business purposes
- Provide complete project briefs before a creator accepts
- Fund projects through the platform before work begins
- Review and respond to creator submissions within the required timeframe
- Not solicit or accept off-platform arrangements for work introduced through IF Media Connect
6. Projects and Contracts
A project begins when a brand posts a project brief and a creator is hired. A binding contract is formed when a creator accepts a brand's offer through the platform.
The contract includes the agreed deliverables, deadline, budget, usage licence, number of revision rounds, and any brand requirements specified at acceptance.
All project communication must take place through IF Media Connect's messaging system. Off-platform communication cannot be used as evidence in dispute resolution.
IF Media Connect reserves the right to cancel any project that violates these Terms, involves fraudulent activity, or poses a material risk to either party.
7. Payments
All transactions on IF Media Connect are processed in Canadian dollars (CAD) through Stripe. By using the platform, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
Project funding is secured before work begins. When a brand hires a creator, payment is held by IF Media Inc. pending project completion. Funds are released to the creator when the brand approves the deliverable, or after a 48-hour auto-approval window if the brand takes no action after delivery is submitted.
IF Media Connect charges a platform fee on each completed transaction. Fees are displayed at checkout before a hire is confirmed. Full details are in the Payment & Refund Policy.
8. Anti-Circumvention
For a period of 12 months following your first contact or first project interaction through IF Media Connect, brands and creators agree not to enter into direct commercial arrangements for the same type of services outside the platform.
This applies regardless of who initiates the arrangement. Violations may result in account termination and recovery of platform fees that would have been earned.
9. Reviews and Trust Metrics
After a project completes, both parties may leave a review. Reviews must be honest, based on real project experience, and free of personal attacks or coercion.
Trust metrics and performance scores are calculated automatically from verified platform data. They are not manually editable and are not available for purchase. Metrics may change over time as new project data is recorded.
Creator search rankings are not guaranteed. Rankings reflect platform activity and are subject to change.
Fake reviews, coordinated review manipulation, or coercive review requests violate these Terms and may result in suspension.
10. Intellectual Property
Creators retain ownership of all deliverables until payment is released. Upon payment release, the creator grants the brand the specific usage rights defined in the project contract.
No rights are transferred beyond what is specified in the contract. Brands may not use deliverables outside the agreed licence without obtaining additional rights.
IF Media Connect retains all rights to the platform, its software, design, and branding. You may not reproduce, resell, or use platform content without written permission from IF Media Inc.
11. Creator Content Standards
By submitting deliverables through IF Media Connect, you represent that:
- The work is original or properly licensed for the agreed usage rights
- All music, stock footage, fonts, and third-party assets are licensed for the intended commercial use
- AI-assisted content is disclosed to the brand where relevant and does not infringe third-party rights
- All individuals appearing in the content have given informed consent
- Any individual under 18 appearing in the content has documented parental or guardian consent
Submitting work that violates these standards is a breach of these Terms.
12. Prohibited Conduct
The following are not permitted on IF Media Connect:
- Creating fake profiles, fake reviews, or impersonating others
- Soliciting or accepting off-platform payment for work introduced through the platform
- Uploading content that infringes third-party intellectual property
- Submitting AI-generated content without disclosure where required
- Harassment, discrimination, or threatening behaviour toward any user
- Attempting to circumvent platform fees or processes
- Creating multiple accounts without authorization
- Using automated tools or bots to scrape or interact with the platform
- Any conduct that violates applicable Canadian federal or provincial law
Violations may result in a warning, suspension, or permanent removal depending on severity.
13. Account Suspension and Termination
IF Media Inc. may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or repeated serious complaints from other users.
You may close your account at any time by contacting support@ifmedia.ca. Closing your account does not affect any active contracts or outstanding payment obligations.
14. Platform Availability
IF Media Connect is provided on an "as available" basis. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes to the platform at any time. Where possible, we will provide reasonable advance notice of significant changes or scheduled downtime.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, IF Media Inc.'s liability for any claim arising from your use of IF Media Connect is limited to the platform fees you paid in the 30 days preceding the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or reputational harm.
IF Media Connect facilitates connections between brands and creators. We are not a party to the creative work itself and cannot guarantee project outcomes, deliverable quality, or the conduct of other users.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta unless both parties agree to an alternative resolution process.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
